Palumbo knocked down the old dilapidated Remis factory and built a new commercial plaza in its stead, and he says he's in the process of filling the remaining two vacant units. Two weeks ago, 28 seats were added out front for seating on an outdoor patio, and Palumbo says he's now in the permitting stage to put a 2,500-square-foot function room next to the main restaurant.īoth the restaurant and the entire plaza at Newhall Crossing have undoubtedly brought some new life to the neighborhood.

The restaurant has a full liquor license and brings in live jazz bands Thursday through Saturday. Muxie said he's been canvassing newly constructed buildings with Building Commissioner Kevin Goggin and praised Palumbo for being very responsive to even minor issues Muxie brought up. Muxie is a member of the city's Disability Commission and a volunteer for the state to help ensure newly constructed buildings in particular not just meet accessibilty requirements for disabled patrons, but that they make sense and serve the intended purpose. They were the only part of the meal where the flavor wasn’t from a sauce or dressing.Tom Muxie was also on hand. They were nicely cooked and with a little hot sauce had some good flavor. My girlfriend got the fish tacos, which were easily the best part. Had the ingredients claimed in a decent ratio on a big plate of iceberg lettuce mix. Very much like most of the chain restaurant salads. Basically it was bland and completely unimpressive. That was nice - they didn’t mess it up, which was a nice surprise. Asked for dressing on the side and they also put bbq sauce on the side.

They were bland, boring, and not worth half the calories they had. They were also covered in fried coconut, but it tasted more like fried than coconut. They were big and coated in an impressive amount of fried dough. We started with coconut shrimp, 8 of them. We sat at the bar late on a Thursday night. As far as these big chains go, this was entirely typical. I should preface this by saying that I typically refuse to eat at chain restaurants. The menu is reasonably priced and has a lot of good items. She was very touched by the birthday sundae.

She didn’t like the fries and they actually substituted it for free with potatoes when they packed it up for her to take home. Her meal was chicken and very tasty also. The waitress even made a good iced coffee for my mom who is very picky and usually hates it (but orders it anyway which drives me crazy, but I digress). I loved whatever their special spice combo is. I ordered the smallest steak and it was just so good. I was able to take the waitress aside and told her it was my mom’s birthday and that I wanted to order a special dessert and she was so nice and said they’d make her a birthday sundae on the house. Neither one of us had ever been to one before. My mother wanted a bloomin’ onion and it was her birthday so I took her to the Outback. I know what you’re thinking - 5 stars for a franchise eatery? Well, I was blown away by the entire experience.

I felt really bad for them, they had 2 kids there too, and they just sat there looking around, and no one paid attention to them at all. But my bf & I had our drinks brought out to us and our server came over to check in on us a few times. No water was brought out, no bread… no waitress came up to greet them. The reason why I took off a star was because there was a table of 5 or 6 that was seated next to mine & my bf’s table… and they were seated but received no service at all for 15 – 20 minutes. The boyfriend said his meal was delicious as well, the chicken was tender and juicy. My steak cut like butter and was cooked perfectly. For an appetizer, we had some sort of buffalo chicken poppers (i don’t remember what it was called, my bf ordered it) It was sooo tender and delicious. I had the surf & turf meal and my bf ordered a pasta dish. We were seated promptly and the service was great.
